For the ancient Greeks, the name of goddess Demeter meant " Mother Earth". Her worship began in the open plains of Thessaly where, since time immemorial, people have cultivated cereal. Great celebrations devoted to Demeter and her daughter Persephone were held every October in the season of seeding, known as Thesmophoria, celebrating the fertility of the earth and the women. Andonis was born in Constantinople. I was awarded a B.A degree in Anthropology and History of Art from S.U.N.Y. at New Paltz, New York. I combine photography, archaeology, and nature.
