Both sides of the tetrachram silver coin representing the goddess Athena and the owl of wisdom. It was made in Lavrion and was the dominant currency from Iberia to Persia. 390-295 BC. Numesmatic Museum Athens. Slide has been digitized.
About Andonis Katanos
Andonis was born in Constantinople. I was awarded a B.A degree in Anthropology and History of Art from S.U.N.Y. at New Paltz, New York. I combine photography, archaeology, and nature. Recently, I reside in Greece, cooperating with publishing houses and magazines. I have published articles with photos covering from Neolithic, Cycladic, Minoan, Mycenaean, Bronze Age, Geometric, Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic up to the Imperial Roman period.
