According to Theophrastus, the roses of Dion blossomed twice a year, while fragrant roses grew in the gardens of Midas, which Herodotus places in the foothills of mount Vermion, where the Temenid kings of Macedon settled.
About Andonis Katanos
Andonis was born in Constantinople. I was awarded a B.A degree in Anthropology and History of Art from S.U.N.Y. at New Paltz, New York. I combine photography, archaeology, and nature. Recently, I reside in Greece, cooperating with publishing houses and magazines. I have published articles with photos covering from Neolithic, Cycladic, Minoan, Mycenaean, Bronze Age, Geometric, Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic up to the Imperial Roman period.
