Description
Head of a warrior statue. The bearded figure wore a helmet, beneath which the locks of the hair were visible. The inlaid eyes were of different material. The figure displays many similarities to the pedimantal sculptures of the temple of Aphaia on Aegina and it is probably the work of Aeginitan sculptor. It is one of the very few surviving life-size bronzes of the period of the Severe style.(490-480 BC). Acropolis of Athens. National Archaeological Museum Athens.
