Clay pot from Otzaki Magoula.Larisa (6500-5800 BC). Neolithic pots are usually handmade monochrome, incised or painted with linear or geometric motifs. The basic type of pots in the Early Neolithic were much the same in Hellas, indication of the communication between the inhabitants of the different settlements. Pottery because of its importance for dating, has been particularly studied and classified into styles. The Neolithic pottery of Thessaly forms the basis for a study of the Neolithic pottery of Greece as a whole. From its first appearance in the Early Neolithic period (6500-5800 BC) Thessalian pottery was of excellent quality. Slide hass been digitized.
